Who I was at the beginning of the challenge was some one who was selfish with their time. If something interfered with what I wanted to do then there was a good chance that I wasn't going to do it. That was reflected in my eating habits, time with the Lord, and time with my family. A couple of weeks before the challenge, I had started intermittent fasting because I was really struggling with my weight/body image. I continued with the fasting but added in the physical aspects of this challenge and now I have lost 20lbs!! My time with Lord continues to improve and more work needs to be done but it had been several months before I had consistently had a prayer life or opened up my bible outside of church service. I'm still wrestling with some personal issues but the consistency of reading the word has made this time a little bit easier because I know that God will handle everything for. The last part, which has been the most fun part, is extra time with my family. Trying to get in those 10k steps has led us to start walking in the evening. We usually walk anywhere between 30-45 minutes, which allows us to catch up on each other's days but also to have intentional conversation without any distractions from technology. An added bonus is that my son (8 months old) loves going on the walks and now this routine for us and will continue even after the challenge is over.
