the 40-day challenge

The Dead Men Walking 40-day challenge is an intensive & comprehensive challenge in which 24 men will compete in various daily, weekly, & cross-challenge goals with the aim of pursuing Christ-centered masculinity together. The challenge culminates in a commencement weekend (locations vary) where men are awarded and celebrated for their commitment and sacrifices they’ve made across the challenge.

Daily, weekly, and cross-challenge goals are as follows:

DAILY GOALS:
1. 10,000 Steps/day
2. 1 gallon of water/day
3. PICK ONE: 100 push-ups/day, 100 sit-ups/day, 50 pull-ups/day, 250 squats/day, OR minimum 1 hour of weightlifting/day
4. 1 chapter of the Bible read/day
5. Minimum 10 mins prayer/day
6. 1 act of service for your wife/girlfriend/fiancée OR a roommate/another person you see every day if you’re single.
7. Text or call another man with an encouragement or prayer/day

WEEKLY GOALS:
A. Attend & participate in your local church service
B. Confess at least 1 failure/sin to a DMW challenge brother
C. Attend a weekly huddle meeting (4 other men within the challenge) via the challenge’s main app - Discord.

CROSS-CHALLENGE GOALS:
• Attend the commencement retreat at the end of the challenge (dates & locations vary per class)
• Watch & take notes on any films from a list of provided at challenge start (bonus goal)
